A 10k walk may not appeal to everyone but throw in dogs and a street party at the end, and you suddenly have 15 willing participants and 9 happy dogs!

Last week, 15 of us, along with 9 of the Barken team, joined 18,000+ others to take on 10k for justice at the London Legal Walk. This was the biggest event in their 20-year history and it raised over £900,000 to support frontline free legal advice agencies. Our team contributed £600 to this, smashing our £250 target.

Not only did this event raise money for a great cause, but it also provided us with the opportunity to step away from our desks, get some fresh air, and bond with our colleagues. As Charles Dickens once said, “The sum of the whole is this: walk and be happy; walk and be healthy. The best way to lengthen out our days is to walk steadily and with a purpose.”

At Arken, our people are purposeful, pioneering, and passionate about what they do, and this event allowed us to showcase these qualities. It provided the team with a chance to demonstrate their commitment to making a difference both within and beyond the workplace.
